Terms & conditions

These terms cover design and development work carried out by Lume for a client. Anything agreed in writing in a specific proposal takes precedence over what is written here.

Scope and quotes

Each project is quoted individually. The quote sets out what is included, what is not, and the expected timeline. Work outside that scope is agreed and quoted separately before it begins — we do not add charges without discussing them with you first.

Payment

Half of the agreed fee is payable before work starts, the balance on delivery. Invoices are due within 14 days unless stated otherwise. Ongoing care plans are billed monthly in advance and can be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the billing month.

Your material

You confirm that text, images, logos, and menus you give us are yours to use, or that you hold the necessary licence. We are not liable for third-party claims arising from material supplied by you.

Ownership

On final payment, the finished site and its custom design belong to you. We retain ownership of our own underlying tools, components, and working files. Third-party fonts, plugins, and platforms remain under their own licences, which we will tell you about where relevant.

Showing the work

Unless you ask us not to, we may show the finished project in our portfolio and on social media. Tell us at any point if you would prefer we did not, and we will remove it.

Timelines

Project dates assume feedback and content arrive when agreed. Delays on either side shift the schedule, and we will always tell you promptly if a date is at risk.

Revisions

Each project includes rounds of revisions set out in the quote. We would rather get it right than count rounds, but substantial changes of direction after approval are treated as new scope.

Hosting and availability

Sites are hosted on third-party infrastructure. We take reasonable care in choosing providers but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability and are not liable for outages outside our control.

Liability

Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the work in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or business.

Cancellation

Either side may end a project in writing. Work completed up to that point is payable, and the deposit is non-refundable once work has started.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. TO CONFIRM: place of jurisdiction with your adviser.
